Hello, iam Lorna Frese, Don’t overdo it!
Woah, hold your horses! I’m not trying to break the speed limit here, but I just noticed my speedometer is reading 85 mph. Talk about flying down the highway! I guess it’s time to ease off the gas and get back to a more reasonable speed.
Why Is A Speedometer 85 Mph? [Solved]
Well, come Sept. 1, 1979, the NHTSA was like, “Let’s put a big emphasis on the 55-mph mark,” and they added a provision to their speedometer accuracy regulation so that the max speed reading would be 85 mph.
Woah, I’m cruisin’ at 85 mph! That’s pretty fast - better watch out for the cops. I’m sure glad my speedometer is working so I can keep an eye on it.
